Additional Information: With Etchings by Lynda Rounds. On the last page of the book it says: “Thirty copies of this, the seventeenth book, have been issued from the Apiary Press, Northampton, Massachusetts. The text has been hand-set in Bembo 8 point italics and printed on Millbourne Book Laid by Pat Milne Henderson. The etchings have been executed and printed on Arnold’s Collotype paper by Lynda Rounds. This is copy 16 Lynda Rounds” (the number 16 and Lynda Rounds looks like ink while the rest is printed type.

Summary: The following information is from the Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:
“Joseph Langland was born in Spring Grove, Minnesota. Langland was raised in Northeastern Iowa on the family farm. Langland received both a bachelor's degree (1940) and a master's degree (1941) from the University of Iowa. He served in the U.S. Army as an infantryman during WW II. His first collection of poems For Harold (1945) was written for his younger brother who was killed in action in the Philippines.
After the war, Langland taught part-time at the University of Iowa and then joined the faculty at the University of Wyoming, teaching there from 1948 to 1959. He then moved to the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he founded the MFA Program for Poets & Writers. He was a faculty member at U Mass from 1959–1979 and a professor emeritus from 1979 until his death in 2007.
His work appeared in Massachusetts Review, Paris Review, The Nation, The New Yorker.
He married Judith Gail Wood on June 26, 1943. They had three children: Joseph Thomas Jr., (1946?); Elizabeth, (1948); and Paul, (1951). He died April 9, 2007 at his home in New Rochelle, New York at the age of 90. His papers are held at Luther College in Iowa.”

Condition: “Hardcover. Small book 5 3/16” tall and 4 3/16” wide. Has a back ribbon to tie it shut with. Covers show some wear and corner tips have been bumped. Covers have some fading and spine edge has a small hole. Etchings (6) are inserted in between the pages and are loose. Text is sound. There was some writing inside the front cover that has been scribbled out and below that it is signed by the author, Joseph Langland and dated 16 April 1964. Overall a good plus copy.
