Publication Information: Des Moines: The Kenyon Printing & Mfg. Co. MDCCCCII (Entered according to Act of Congress in the Year 1902, by R.A. Smith …..). I believe this is a Facsimile Edition but can find no real information to verify this. There is a section in the front titled “Roderick A. Smith and “The History Of Dickinson County, Iowa” which says it’s from a talk given by Mrs. Roy R. Smith at the Dickinson County Old Settler’s Picnic, Gull Point State Park Lodge, August 20, 1964. After this starts the Facsimile reprint.
Additional Information: Illustrated. 598 pages. The introduction section above is not numbered so is not included in the page count.
Summary: The county was organized in 1857 and is named in honor of Daniel S. Dickinson, a U.S. Senator for New York. A detailed history.
Condition: Hardcover. Some faint soiling and spine seam is pulling slightly in a couple places but overall a very good copy.
