Summary: This magazine was published from 1877-1917. When Martha Lamb took it over in 1883 (until her death in Jan.1893) it became a paying venture. While she had owned it, it was fully illustrated. They published documents, historical and biographical articles, news of the historical societies, the proceedings of the New York Historical Society, book reviews, and notes and queries. Condition: Bound volume, Ex-Lib – usual stamps & marks. Covers show slight wear, page edges stamped. Issues have front and back covers. First issue paper front cover is tore and completely loose in volume, another front cover has a corner missing at the bottom and several pages in one issue have pieces missing in the bottom right side margin area. Pages have hint of age discoloring especially on the outer edges. Overall very good copy for its age.
