Additional Information: xv + 1496 pages. Some illustrations in issues. Don’t know if there was other covers on issues other than the front page with the date (see photo). No ads in these issues. The xv pages in front are a complete Index listing for this volume. See photos for scans of some of the index pages.
Summary: The Independent was a weekly magazine published in New York City between 1848 and 1928. It was founded in order to promote Congregationalism and was also an important voice in support of abolitionism and women's suffrage.
Condition: Hardcover, Ex-Lib – usual stamps/markings. Covers show slight wear and light soiling. Volume is sound. Few small tears, some tears have been taped, few pencil marks, few soiled specks, couple small page chips on page edges. Overall good plus.
