Map lining papers both front and back (same). Six illustrations (which do not match the page numbers that are listed but all six are bound in the book).
Summary: Peter Cartwright was born in VA in 1785. He was a circuit rider in Kentucky, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana and Tennessee for almost 50 years. He was a well known Methodist preacher. His interest in education led him to found Illinois Wesleyan University as well as Illinois Conference Female Academy. Contents include: Book I Under The Articles Of Confederation 1783-1790 (taking place in West Virginia). Book II George Washington, President 1790-1796. Book III John Adams, President 1796-1800 and Book IV Thomas Jefferson, President 1800-1802 (These three books taking place in Kentucky).
Condition: Hardcover, Ex-Lib. – usual stamps and marks, pocket on inside of front fly page. Covers show some wear. Spine seam is starting to pull in a couple place so volume is loose but still intact. Text is clean. Overall a good plus copy.
