Summary: “Complete Record of the Trial of Samuel Colt vs. The Mass. Arms Company. Tried June 10, 1851, In U.S. Circuit Court, Boston, Mass. Before Hon. Levi Woodbury, Associate Justice, U.S. Supreme Court.” This was an action brought by Samuel Colt, of Hartford, Conn., the inventor of the Repeating Firearms usually known as “Revolvers” or “six shooters,” against the Massachusetts Arm Company located at Chicopee, Mass., for the infringement of his patent-right, by manufacturing arms, in which embodied several of the improvements already secured by letters-patent to him. In the book is a vivid picture of the entire history of firearms – its fundamentals and highly technical terms. It also is a unique source of information and constitutes the most authoritative document on Colt’s greatest invention, the repeating firearm.
Condition: Hardcover, covers show slight wear. Text is clear but pulling slightly in a few places but still a sound copy. DJ is worn, torn has some pieces missing and been taped but is covered with a clear plastic mylar jacket. Front cover has a small tear in the cloth on the right side 2/3 down from top. Over all good plus book.
